Our chief guide and company owner Ngima Sherpa was born in a village south of Everest in 1968. He started trekking and climbing at the age of 14 and has worked his way up from porter, to cook, to trekking guide. He has a great deal of experience trekking throughout Nepal and in high altitude mountaineering. Among his achievements are:
Ngima has taken English courses and he has a good command of spoken English. He lives in Kathmandu with his wife and 3 children. Most of Ngima's assistant guides are from his village south of Everest with some of them being members of his family.
Dorje has 13 years experience in trekking, starting as a porter and now a guide and climber. He is married with 2 children.
Kaji has 7 years experience in trekking, starting as a porter and is now training to be a guide. He is married with 4 children.
Gelje is training to be guide.
Da-nima is training to be guide.
Dendi is an excellent cook as well as being a good climber. He has 10 years experience as a cook.
Sonam comes from the Langtang and is training to be a guide.
